About BrickProof
Why we built a place to document and protect LEGO® collections
BrickProof is a product of Asset Proof Technologies LLC.
It started with a conversation with my insurance company.
As my LEGO® collection grew, I eventually started thinking about something many collectors don't consider until it's too late, how would I insure it?
So I reached out to my insurance company and asked a simple question:
What would you need in order to insure my collection?
Their answer was straightforward:
“Receipts for proof of ownership. Start sending us your receipts.”
That sounded simple enough… until I realized what it actually meant.
My collection included hundreds of sets, along with display cases, custom display stands, and lighting kits. Many of which were expensive or limited edition accessories. Receipts were scattered across emails, photos, and paper records collected over many years.
What sounded like a simple request quickly turned into what felt like a monumental documentation project.
I needed a better way to organize everything.
So I built one.
From Personal Tool to BrickProof
What started as a small personal project quickly evolved into something much more useful. I began building tools to help organize my collection and document everything in one place:
- Store receipts and proof of purchase
- Identify LEGO® sets from receipts
- Track the current value of the collection
- Document accessories like display cases, stands, and lighting kits
- Generate organized reports that could be shared with an insurance company
The more I built, the more I realized this wasn't just my problem. Many collectors face the same challenge once their collections reach a certain size.
That personal tool eventually became BrickProof.
The Moment Many Collectors Experience
For many adult collectors (often called AFOLs — Adult Fans of LEGO®), there comes a moment when the hobby suddenly feels different.
Maybe it's when you add up the value of your collection for the first time.
Maybe it's when you finish filling a display room.
Or maybe it's when someone asks, “What would happen if something happened to all of this?”
At that moment, the collection stops feeling like just a hobby and starts to look more like an investment worth protecting.
BrickProof was built for that moment.
Built for Collectors
BrickProof was designed specifically for LEGO® collectors who want a better way to manage and protect their collections.
Instead of spreadsheets, email folders, and scattered files, BrickProof provides one place to:
- Track every set in your collection
- Store receipts, photos, and proof of purchase
- Document display cases, stands, and lighting kits
- Monitor the current value of your collection
- Organize sets by display location or storage
- Generate reports for insurance or personal records
BrickProof helps collectors create the documentation they wish they already had.
Protecting More Than Just Your Collection
If something unexpected ever happens a fire, theft, flood, or other loss the hardest part isn't just replacing the sets.
It's proving what you owned.
That's why BrickProof securely stores your documentation in the cloud, including:
- Receipts
- Photos of sets and displays
- Insurance documentation
- Collection records and valuations
Even if something happens to your physical collection or your computer, your records remain safely stored and accessible whenever you need them.
Because protecting your collection also means protecting the proof behind it.
Why the Name “BrickProof”?
BrickProof combines two simple ideas:
- Brick — because the platform is built for LEGO® collectors
- Proof — proof of ownership, receipts, and collection value
Together they represent the goal of the platform: helping collectors document and protect the collections they’ve spent years building.
Built by a Collector
BrickProof was created by a LEGO® collector who simply wanted a better way to document and protect his own collection.
What started as a solution to a personal problem has grown into a tool designed to help collectors everywhere keep their collections organized, documented, and protected.
